Visit the Jardin de la Ganille
The Jardin de la Ganille is a beautiful garden which has been created at an altitude of 650 meters and on an acid soil. They have chosen plants well suited to the conditions and there are beautiful displays of azaleas, rhodedendons and heathers to admire.
The garden extends over 5000 m2 and includes over 800 different species. Odette Caraminot and her husband Eric, began the garden 20 years ago and have been opening it to the public since 2004.
Grassy paths meander around the garden opening up various vistas each with an exuberant display of plants and flowers and often augmented by garden decorations such as an old water pump, terraccotta pots or arches and tunnels for plants to be grown on.
Areas of shrubs and perennials occupy many parts of the garden and there is also a special area dedicated to shady plants and a heather garden. A grasses garden, fruit trees, cabins and a pretty terrace are also in the garden.
