The Chateau de Momas is in Momas near to Pau in the south west of France. The garden is listed as one of the "Remarkable gardens" of France.
This chateau, which has the look of a large manor house, is surrounded by gardens restored according to the memories of gardenerers of times gone by.

With more than a thousand different plants and vegetables, many of them rare, there is much to appreciate in the garden.
Old specimen trees have been conserved.
There is a white garden, a herb garden, an orchard containing rare varieties and a large vegetable garden (potager).
One corner is devoted to medicinal plants from the forests of Porto Rico. This garden was started by the great-grandfather of the current owner who was a pharmacist and botanist and the present owner has brought this part of the garden back to life.

The Jardins du Chateau de Momas is open every day except Thursdays from 10.00 to 12.00 and 14.30 to 18.30.
Entrance costs 5 euros and the money collected is used to support the association that looks after the chateau and gardens. The association is run to help people out of work or trying to change their job skills.
